Noun/Nombre: Person/Place/Thing
Verb/Verbo: Action word
Adjective/Adjetivo: Description word
Pronoun/Pronombre: Takes the place of a noun
Conjugate/Conjugar: To change a verb to reflect who completed the action and when
I walk vs. He walks
We sing vs. They sang
Infinitive/Infinitivo: A verb that ends in -AR, -ER or -IR in Spanish. This is an un-conjugated verb.
Stem/El raíz: If you remove the -AR, -ER or -IR ending from a verb what remains is called the stem.
Stem-Change/Cambio de raíz: A spell change that occurs in the stem
Present Tense/Tiempo Presente: NOW
Preterit Tense/Tiempo Pretérito: In the past, completed actions, actions that happened once
Imperfect Tense/Tiempo Imperfecto: In the past, habitual actions, actions happened repeatedly
Trigger Word: A word that helps you determine if you should use Preterite or Imperfect
Present Participle/Participio presente (Gerund): ING word in English (ANDO, IENDO)
Past Participle/Participio pasado: ADO or IDO in Spanish
Perfect Tense: Can be Present Perfect, Past Perfect (Pluscuamperfecto), Conditional Perfect, etc.
Uses the verb HABER in different conjugations combined with a past participle
Future tense: What will happen
Conditional: What could/would happen
